According to U.Today, the XRP Ledger has launched a significant software update with the release of version 2.2.1. RippleX announced via a tweet that the new version of rippled, the reference server implementation of the XRP Ledger protocol, is now available. This update is a notable achievement for the XRP community, bringing advancements and fixes aimed at improving the overall functionality and reliability of the network.

The release of version 2.2.1 addresses a specific bug introduced in the earlier version 2.2.0, which affected the handling of certain types of RPC requests. This fix is crucial for maintaining the stability and reliability of the XRP Ledger, ensuring that users can continue to transact and utilize the network without issues. RippleX has urged server operators to upgrade to the new version as soon as possible to ensure service continuity.

Additionally, five amendments introduced in version 2.2.0 are now open for voting, following XRP Ledger's amendment process. This process requires two weeks of over 80% support from trusted validators for protocol changes to take effect. RippleX advises server operators using versions older than 2.2.0 to upgrade to version 2.2.1 by August 14, 2024, to ensure continued operation.
