According to Business Insider, Su Zhu, the cofounder of cryptocurrency hedge fund Three Arrows Capital (3AC), has described his three-month prison experience in Singapore as a 'magical feeling.' Zhu was imprisoned for not cooperating with liquidators after his firm failed to meet margin calls and faced liquidation. He was released in December and has since shared his thoughts on the experience.

Zhu stated that while he wouldn't highly recommend prison, he believes it could be a beneficial experience for everyone to have once in their life. He enjoyed the simple lifestyle, having ample time to read books and exercise. Zhu also mentioned that the lack of internet, alcohol, and caffeine allowed him to have the 'best sleep in his life.'

Three Arrows Capital collapsed in July 2022 after defaulting on a $667 million loan from Voyager Digital. Zhu and his cofounder, Kyle Davies, left Singapore and traveled the world while their creditors were owed $3.3 billion. Zhu was arrested in September while attempting to leave Singapore. Since his release, he has been promoting a new crypto project called Ox.Fun, which aims to engage users through trading quests.
