Japanese company Metaplanet continues to raise $60 million to buy Bitcoin!
Japanese company Metaplanet has raised $60 million (about 9.5 billion Japanese Yen) to buy more Bitcoin. This amount was raised through two bond issuances, each worth 5 billion Yen and 4.5 billion Yen. This is to accelerate the company's Bitcoin accumulation plan, seen as a strategy to protect assets against the devaluation of the Japanese Yen and take advantage of the long-term value of Bitcoin. Metaplanet currently holds 1,142,287 BTC, with an average purchase price of approximately 65,664 USD/BTC. This is not the first time Metaplanet has raised capital to buy Bitcoin; Previously, the company also made many similar issuances of stock and bond purchase rights. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich said the strategy is similar to that of MicroStrategy, a company famous for hoarding Bitcoin.
