Korean research firm Dispread reported a significant increase in the number of cryptocurrency listings on the country's top five exchanges in the fourth quarter of 2023. According to their 'Listing Trends Report of Major Domestic Virtual Asset Exchanges,' the number of listings on UPbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and GOPAX jumped to 60 in the fourth quarter, representing a 33% surge from the 45 listings recorded in the third quarter. The report attributes this growth to the global cryptocurrency boom fueled by the election of Donald Trump as US President and a surge in domestic trading. As of the 12th, Bithumb led the pack with 26 listings, followed by UPbit (14) and Coinone (12). This increase in listings indicates a growing interest in the cryptocurrency market in South Korea.
