Michael Saylor, CEO of #MicroStrategy , made a presentation to Microsoft's board of directors about bitcoin as the foundation of the company's corporate strategy. In his 3-minute speech, Saylor emphasized the transformative potential of bitcoin, which he called an "important opportunity" for the next wave of innovation.
The MicroStrategy CEO cited a slide showing that bitcoin's market capitalization will grow from 2,045 trillion to 280 trillion, accounting for a significant portion of the 900 trillion global asset market. He stressed that bitcoin is an ultra-efficient asset compared to all other traditional financial instruments, with high annual returns and low #counterparty risk.
In his proposal, Saylor asked Microsoft to allocate a budget to invest in bitcoin. He said such an approach could increase the company's market capitalization by another ¥4.9 trillion by 2034.
The event came after Michael Saylor's public address to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on May 10, in which he proposed to help shareholders earn ¥1 trillion through a bitcoin-based financial strategy.
Saylor's address came amid news that Microsoft shareholders are about to vote on a proposal to use bitcoin as a reserve asset, a measure the company's board of directors opposes.
