According to Odaily, Russian electricity provider Rosseti has intensified its efforts to combat illegal cryptocurrency mining activities, seizing 110 mining machines in a large-scale raid. This operation was conducted by Rosseti's North Caucasus branch, Dagenergo. The power supplier reported that its officials shut down a 'large illegal cryptocurrency mining farm' allegedly located in a 'private residence' in the center of Makhachkala, the capital and largest city of Dagestan. Officials stated that the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Dagestan branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Dagenergo and Rosseti shared video footage of the raid on their Telegram channels. The video depicted the house divided into several sections, with one part serving as a makeshift engineering lab for cryptocurrency mining equipment and another seemingly dedicated to housing the mining devices. The police eventually gathered the confiscated cryptocurrency mining equipment into a pile. Dagenergo concluded that the investigation is 'currently ongoing,' and engineers are 'assessing the extent of damage caused to the regional energy system.'
