According to Foresight News, Sky Mavis, the developer behind Axie Infinity, has announced a 21% reduction in its workforce. This decision will impact approximately 50 employees out of its global team of around 250. Co-founder Nguyen Thanh Trung clarified that financial constraints were not the driving factor behind this move. Instead, the company aims to refocus on its core products and long-term strategy. Affected employees will receive severance packages and support for job placement.
Previously, Foresight News reported that Sky Mavis released a review report for the first half of 2024. The report highlighted significant achievements, including a record high of 1.5 million daily active addresses on the Ronin chain. Additionally, the Ronin wallet saw over 3 million downloads within six months. Axie Infinity also experienced notable growth, with Origins reaching a one-year high of 156,000 monthly active users. The introduction of the 'Play-to-Rice' event has further driven the growth of both the Origins and Classic versions.
