570 million #XRP in one hour - what's going on?
Yesterday, November 7, blockchain platform Whale Alert discovered two large transactions that took place within an hour. The timing of the transactions coincided with a notable rise in the price of XRP, which reached $0.57825. One transaction transferred 100000000 XRP (equivalent to US$53,270,381) and the other transferred 470000000 XRP (equivalent to US$250,454,910). The larger transfer was made by Ripple and sent to an anonymous blockchain address that was also linked to the San Francisco-based company, according to Bithomp. The exact reason for this large-scale transfer is unclear, but Ripple often conducts similar transactions that result in the sale of XRP. The proceeds are then used to cover operational and legal expenses related to the ongoing litigation with the SEC.
