According to developer Eigen Labs, #EigenLayer ’s official X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked and used to promote a fake airdrop.

Regarding the incident that took place on Friday morning, Eigen Labs confirmed that its account was hacked: “@EigenLayer account has been hacked. Do not click on suspicious links and make sure to only trade through ‘eigenlayer.xyz’. An update will be shared to ensure account security.”

Hacker makes airdrop move for season 2 In the first post made by the hacked account, an announcement was made for EigenLayer’s season 2 token airdrop. According to crypto analysis platform Scam Sniffer, this post contained a malicious terminal. About 10 minutes later, a second post mistakenly directed to make a fake claim, followed by a “final call” as the third post. The claim period for the officially announced Season 2 stake airdrop ended in September.
