Researchers at Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) have introduced Palletrone, an innovative flying robot cart designed for efficient cargo handling through human-robot interaction. This multirotor platform features a cubic protective enclosure for safe cargo transport and is equipped with eight actuators for precise directional control.
Users operate Palletrone by grasping a handle and exerting forces to stabilize the cargo during flight, akin to steering a shopping cart. Unlike traditional wheeled carts, Palletrone can fly over obstacles, making it ideal for environments like factories and malls.
While currently capable of carrying up to 6.6 pounds, the team envisions future applications in logistics and aerial photography. The design emphasizes stability and user interaction, promising to revolutionize cargo transport systems by combining advanced flight hardware with intuitive controls.
