Fuse Network announces roadmap update and major ecosystem upgrade
Payments-focused blockchain Fuse has unveiled a new roadmap, highlighting a series of upgrades intended to accelerate ecosystem growth. The upcoming changes, centered around the Fuse Ember upgrade, will introduce improved scalability through modular architecture, with zkEVM technology at its core. This shift will position the network to support new use cases and allow businesses to build advanced apps with enhanced interoperability.
The Fuse Ember upgrade
Fuse Ember, the three-phase upgrade, will bring a range of improvements over the coming year. Phase one involves upgrading to the latest EVM version through the London Hard Fork, integrating new blockchain standards. In phase two, the network’s tokenomics will be overhauled, increasing the staking threshold to stabilize validators. In the final phase, Fuse will eliminate token inflation, aligning incentives for long-term sustainability.
With the shift to zkEVM technology, developers will have access to tools for building applications that offer private and secure payments—key for use cases in DeFi, healthcare, enterprise, and beyond. The modular architecture of zkEVM will enhance efficiency, enabling more transactions to be processed concurrently while lowering costs and preserving decentralization.
Community node sale and roadmap milestones
Another major milestone on Fuse’s roadmap is the planned community node sale, expected to take place in early 2025. A total of 50,000 node licenses will be sold as NFTs, allowing node operators to earn rewards for validating transactions. For those not wishing to directly operate nodes, an option to delegate NFTs will be available.
As part of the roadmap, new yield-generating products for Fuse users are also expected, alongside the deployment of the zkEVM upgrade and revised tokenomics before the end of 2024.
The bottom line
Fuse Network’s comprehensive roadmap, powered by the Ember upgrade, is designed to accelerate growth and adoption within its ecosystem. With its upcoming transition to zkEVM and a focus on scalability and interoperability, Fuse is positioning itself as a leading Layer 2 network for payments and DeFi use cases.
