After closing August at $59k, Bitcoin, the flagship cryptocurrency has declined, losing more than $2,000 to rest at $57k. Other major altcoins including Ethereum, XRP, and Toncoin have also seen notable losses in the last 24 hours.
The investors’ confidence surrounding the market reflects ‘fear,’ as demonstrated by the crypto fear and greed index data by Alternative. Consequently, the general crypto market cap has dropped by 1.24% to rest at $2.02 trillion. Amid this, the total crypto market trading volume over the last day skyrocketed by 55% to $55.54 billion. The price of Bitcoin has slipped below the critical support level of $58,450 signaling a possible further downtrend. According to CoinMarketCap data, Bitcoin traded at $57,471, representing a 1.66% decline at the time of writing. Also, the decline coincides with negative BTC ETF flows of -$175.67 million as of August 30.

The altcoin market has also seen the majority of the tokens trading in the red zone. Leading the charge, the price of Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap declined by 1.82% to $2,442 at press time. Also, ETH has traded between $2,407.57 and $2,510.82 over the last day with a 57.41% increase in trading volume.

Meanwhile, Solana dropped by 3.75% at the time of writing to trade at $127.69. Moreover, the price of Solana touched the bottoms and tops of $127.46 and $135.92 respectively in the last 24 hours.
The seventh-largest cryptocurrency XRP has maintained its position below the $0.6 mark. CMC data shows that the price of XRP saw a decrease of 2.11% to trade at $0.5475. Its 24-hour bottoms and tops were recorded at $0.5444 and $0.5614.
Binance Coin (BNB) dropped by 2.75% to trade at $506.81 and maintained a 24-hour range of $502.22 and $523.26 respectively. TRX dipped marginally by 0.12% to change hands at $0.1561 with 24-hour lows and highs of $0.1547 and $0.1571 respectively. Meanwhile, Toncoin (TON) declined by 3.96% to touch $5.16.
Meanwhile, the memecoin market has shown notable declines in the last 24 hours. Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), the two largest memecoins have both decreased within this time. While DOGE dropped by 4.52%, recording the most loss among the top 10 cryptocurrencies, while SHIB crashed by 3.31%. Consequently, DOGE and SHIB traded at $0.09523 and $0.00001324 respectively.
