According to a report from The Washington Post, activists are pushing major corporations to adopt Bitcoin as part of a broader strategy to support free-market principles. This new initiative comes as cryptocurrency gains increasing attention from a variety of sectors.
Since October, the National Center for Public Policy Research, a think tank, has filed shareholder proposals requesting that Microsoft and Amazon consider investing in Bitcoin. The group argues that such a move would help protect the companies and their investors from inflation. Additional proposals are expected, with the group emphasizing that promoting Bitcoin adoption aligns with their goals of supporting financial independence, as cryptocurrency operates largely outside government control.
