According to U.Today, Shiba Inu’s official marketing lead, Lucie, has announced an upcoming Web3 upgrade for the Shiba Eternity game. This update, named 'Shibatopia Arena,' will introduce ranked tournaments and blockchain-backed card battles. Lucie cautioned the community against scammers who might claim the update has already been launched and solicit crypto payments related to it.

The new upgrade will feature ranked tournaments with 15-day cycles and 14 divisions. Players will compete to advance from White Belt to Grandmaster, earning points for victories and losing points for defeats. The digital cards earned in the game will be NFTs on the Shibarium blockchain, which users can trade, sell, or showcase in their collections.

Lucie also mentioned that the game would include over 10,000 unique Shiboshi Heroes, each with special abilities for strategic battles. She emphasized that this transition from Web2 to Web3 ensures player ownership and expands the possibilities of blockchain gaming. The main tokens used in the game will be BONE and TREAT, with the latter yet to be launched. Lucie reiterated that the Web3 update has not been rolled out and advised users to verify any links with SHIB admins on Discord before clicking.
