"Why do I like the East? You know, it's really awesome here. If an American or a European is eating, they just eat what's in their own plate. But if I like what you're eating, like Italian pasta, I might hesitate to ask because it's not polite. But here, there's a round table with lots of different dishes, and everyone can share different dishes.

Second, do you know about slippers? They're really great. Before, we didn't take off our shoes when we got home, but now I feel like it's dirty to not change into slippers when I get home. And there are even people who wear shoes to sleep, can you believe it? You don't know how awesome it is to wear slippers.

Third, do you know that in many places in the East, including China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand, you don't have to give tips? You don't have to think about giving a 15% or 20% tip every day when you eat out. If you don't give a tip, will people think you're a bad person? Will you feel guilty?

Fourth, it's so convenient to find a place to eat here. You can walk a few meters or a few hundred meters. Public transportation is just a few minutes away. In the US mainland, you might have to drive for one or two hours. The most important thing is, you know, when you're eating with your friends, they consider your feelings. Even after eating, they'll give you a napkin first, and then use it themselves. This feeling is so wonderful, because someone is thinking about your feelings, not everyone."
