LayerZero Will Issue Tokens In 2024
After a long period of rumors, the LayerZero team has finally confirmed that they will launch and distribute tokens to users in early 2024.
In a statement posted on Twitter on the morning of December 8, cross-chain solution LayerZero confirmed plans to issue tokens in the near future.
LayerZero says it built its solution with the intention of supporting a native token from the start, which is clearly stated in the project's source code. However, the lack of communication with the community has created many misunderstandings and rumors in recent times, and there has even been information about the LayerZero token appearing on Binance.
Therefore, LayerZero officially confirmed the token issuance plan, expected to take place in the first half of 2024.
According to AZc.News, in April 2023, LayerZero announced a capital raising worth 120 million USD with a valuation of up to 3 billion USD.
The cryptocurrency investment community has long been interested in the possibility of LayerZero having its own token, since their flagship product Stargate Finance (STG) was launched in March 2022. Many people still regularly use Stargate's features in the hope of receiving an airdrop.
However, Stargate's TVL has decreased from a peak of 4 billion USD in April 2022 to only about 330 million USD when the information was updated.
