- ZA Bank, a Hong Kong-based bank, reported a net loss of CNY 177 million (HKD 190.4 million) in the first half of 2021, a 17% decrease compared to the same period last year. The bank's net income increased by 13% year-on-year, reaching CNY 152 million, with non-interest operating income accounting for 25.8% of total operating income. As of June this year, ZA Bank had 700,000 retail customers, up from 650,000 at the end of last year. The bank's deposit balance was HKD 10.712 billion, while the total loan amount was approximately HKD 4.916 billion, with a loan-to-deposit ratio of 45.9%.

Yao Wensong, CEO of ZA Bank, stated at the launch ceremony of HashKey Exchange that the bank is actively preparing to cooperate with licensed exchanges in Hong Kong, such as HashKey.

- Web3 social application Friend.tech recently announced that they expect forks and other types of clone versions to emerge. In order to ensure loyal users receive fair rewards during the testing period, users who switch to forked or cloned versions will automatically opt out of earning points and forfeit their existing points. However, they will still be able to use the application normally.

- Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution Boba Network will shut down BobaAvax on October 31. Users are required to transfer all funds to the Avalanche mainnet before the deadline to avoid the risk of permanently losing access to any assets on BobaAvax. It is important to note that BobaAvax is Boba Network's layer-2 expansion solution on Avalanche.

- Hyperlane, a cross-chain application building platform, is set to launch its V3 version with plans to release the V3 mainnet in mid-September. The new version will introduce Hooks, allowing for custom message routing; additional security options, enabling the use of Hooks to route messages through native/standard cross-chain bridges or third-party interoperability providers; the ability to obtain all Hooks custom settings through a single API call; and sending messages to permissionless deployment chains via no-code integration.
