Bitcoin (BTC) experienced increased volatility on June 30, with traders anticipating significant price fluctuations. BTC/USD hit intraday highs of $61,668 on Bitstamp, recovering from local lows of $59,950 the day before. Bids were appearing under the spot price with the weekly, monthly, and quarterly candle close approaching. Despite a 2.6% decrease week-to-date, Michaël van de Poppe, founder and CEO of trading firm MNTrading, expressed optimism about BTC's price performance. Meanwhile, Bitcoin's Q2 performance remained weak, with a 13.8% decrease, 8.9% of which occurred in June.
