Has the zkEVM Mainnet Finally Launched? 📜

Scroll, a player in the zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (#zkEVM ) realm, has unveiled its mainnet.

The launch, revealed on Oct. 17, invites existing Ethereum applications and developer tools to migrate to this #scaling solution, offering reduced transaction costs and enhanced throughput.

Scroll's zkEVM approach consolidates off-chain transactions into one batch and submits minimal data summaries to Ethereum's mainnet. Etherscan data suggests that Scroll had kept its mainnet's live status a secret since Oct. 8, with extensive testing and security audits on three testnets preceding the launch.

While initially centralized, Scroll plans to progressively decentralize and aims to remove central approval. The community will play a significant role in shaping Scroll's future.
