NEAR Foundation and Eigen Labs Partner to Enhance Ethereum Rollups

#NEAR Foundation and #EigenLabs have partnered to develop a "fast finality layer" for Ethereum Layer 2 projects. This collaboration aims to significantly reduce transaction times to a few seconds and cut costs by 4,000 times, providing developers with improved liquidity and efficiency in the #Web3 environment. An upcoming #testnet is scheduled for release in Q1 2024.

⚡️ EigenLayer’s total deposits exceed $900M amid increased LST caps

EigenLayer has recorded a significant jump in user deposits amid the recent adjustment of deposit caps for liquid staking assets. Consequently, the protocol’s total value locked has risen from $250M to over $900M. The protocol's total deposits are currently equal to more than 410K ether. The protocol has recently expanded its range to include six additional LSTs: Swell’s swETH, Stakewise’s sETH, Stader’s xETH, Origin’s oETH, Ankr’s ankrETH and Wrapped Beacon Ether (wBETH).

EigenLabs has announced changes to the EigenLayer restaking ecosystem, including the introduction of three new LSTs, removal of 200k ETH individual caps, and a new approach for allocating restaking points.

The schedule for LST additions and the unpause phase has been shifted by one week, with the restaking window unpaused from February 5th to February 9th.
