India's Supreme Court YouTube page posted encrypted ads, suspected to have been hacked

PANews reported on September 20 that, according to Bloomberg, the official YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India used for live-streaming litigation was allegedly hacked on Friday, with cryptocurrency advertisements being played. The channel had uploaded videos related to cryptocurrency products. Subsequently, the entire page has been deleted.

The Supreme Court of India has been using video streaming platforms to live-stream cases of constitutional significance and public importance to a wider audience. The channel had archived recordings of court proceedings. The archived videos have now been set to private and are no longer publicly accessible, while the homepage displays a blank video with a title mentioning cryptocurrency. The Supreme Court officials did not respond to emails and phone calls seeking comment.
