TYPES OF AIRDROPS
1) STANDARD AIRDROP:
The most basic form, where tokens are distributed to users for free.Users typically need to register their wallet addresses on the project’s website.
Example: The OmiseGO (OMG) airdrop distributed tokens to Ethereum holders in 2017.
2)BOUNTY AIRDROP:
Users receive tokens in exchange for performing specific tasks.Tasks can include social media promotions, blog writing, joining Telegram groups, or referring friends.
Example: BitTorrent (BTT) conducted bounty airdrops to users completing tasks on social media platforms.
3)HOLDER AIRDROP:
Tokens are distributed to individuals who hold a specific cryptocurrency.The amount received is often proportional to the amount held by the user.
Example: The Stellar Lumens (XLM) airdrop to Bitcoin holders distributed over $120 million worth of XLM in 2016.
4) EXCLUSIVE AIRDROP:
Tokens are given to users who have been active within a specific community or have supported the project in its early stages.Often a reward for loyal users or contributors.
Example: Uniswap (UNI) rewarded early users of its decentralized exchange with UNI tokens in 2020.
5)FORK AIRDROP:
Occurs when a blockchain undergoes a fork, creating a new chain and subsequently new tokens.Holders of the original chain’s tokens receive an equivalent amount of the new tokens.
Example: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) distributed to Bitcoin (BTC) holders following its fork from Bitcoin in 2017.$BTC $ETH
