Two different groups are interested in purchasing Roma from Dan Friedkin – the government-owned Public Investment Fund, who already own Newcastle United, and private investor Turki Alalshikh, who is a royal adviser and president of the General Entertainment Authority.

At this stage, the Friedkins are hoping to enter into a partnership with one of the two Saudi groups, wanting to remain in control of Roma, but both PIF and Alalshikh want 100% of the club’s shares, preparing offers of circa €900m plus €300m linked to the construction of the new stadium.

Things are still at their early stages, but updates are expected in the coming days.
