Crypto startups are booming in Africa and Asia, reaching record levels in H1 2024, according to a report by blockchain startup accelerator Alliance. Europe took the lead with a 31.4% share, surpassing the US and Canada, while Asia secured third place with a 26.8% share. The shift is attributed to regulatory uncertainties in the US and increased adoption of digital assets in emerging markets. Africa's share rose to 5.2%, slightly below Latin America. Meanwhile, the number of startup founders from big tech firms or top 100-ranked universities has dropped since 2021.
