Arbitrum has introduced a new transaction ordering policy called Timeboost, a new transaction ordering policy for Arbitrum One and Nova.

Timeboost allows for auctions where bidders can pay for priority transaction processing, giving the winner an advantage and potential opportunities for arbitrage and backrunning.

The proceeds can be collected in either ETH or ARB, chosen by the Arbitrum DAO. The goal is to address limitations of the current First-Come First-Served system, which can lead to issues like spam and inefficient use of resources.

Timeboost aims to provide a more sustainable and inclusive solution, while generating revenue for the DAO.
