BlockBeats News, December 16 – CoinDesk reported that the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) stated in a document on the upcoming cryptocurrency regulatory framework released on Monday that the UK plans to ban the public issuance of cryptocurrencies. The new legislation would ban public offerings of cryptocurrencies, building on existing UK rules that prohibit unregistered crypto companies from promoting to UK customers.
Only crypto-asset trading platforms and related offerings that meet the exemption conditions may be exempt from this restriction. The document also states that the policy is still seeking industry input, particularly regarding market access, information disclosure, and market abuse. This is one of several documents released by regulators to prepare a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.
