Binance, the global cryptocurrency exchange, has frozen over $5.3 million in stolen funds, aiding BtcTurk in investigating a recent malicious attack. The Turkish crypto exchange, with over 5 million users, reported the attack primarily affected holdings in hot wallets, more vulnerable to hackers. Binance CEO, Richard Teng, praised the efforts of the investigation and security teams in protecting the ecosystem from bad actors. This comes after Swiss-based crypto exchange Lykke halted withdrawals following a security breach on June 4.
