Formula One driver Conor Daly, son of legendary Irish F1 driver Derek Daly, recently raced in the 108th Indy 500 event in a Polkadot-branded car, bringing the DOT brand to a TV audience of 13.3 million. Daly surged from his 29th-place start to the front of the pack, leading for 22 laps and finishing in 10th place. The sponsorship was part of a growing trend of crypto involvement in motorsports, with crypto exchanges signing multimillion-dollar sponsorship deals with almost every Formula One team in 2021. However, Polkadot is the only crypto entity to sponsor the Indy 500 this year.
