But not everyone's cheering. Laura Shin of Unchained Podcast thinks this could make Bitcoin vulnerable. Shapeshift founder, Erik Voorhees, however, sees it as a win for Bitcoin in the US.

Meanwhile, Kerrisdale Capital's Sahm Adrangi is less than thrilled, calling Bitcoin mining one of the "worst business models" and suggesting the US support other cryptocurrencies instead.
