The sudden removal of tweets promoting a meme coin by American wrestling icon Hulk Hogan led to a drastic price drop.
According to Step Finance's social media account, Solana Floor, the meme coin's value plummeted by $15 million following the deletion of posts on Hogan's Twitter account. Initially, the coin's market value was $17 million but fell to $2 million after the tweets about the HULK Solana meme coin were removed.
Screenshots shared on social media suggested that Hogan had posted promotional comments about the HULK memecoin. The multiple-time WWE champion's removal of these posts caused the coin's value to drop by over 80% within 15 minutes.
This incident is part of a broader trend where famous personalities engage with meme coins. Notably, Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin has recently criticized such meme coins heavily.
