Changpeng Zhao, the billionaire founder of Binance, has begun his sentence at a low-security federal prison in Lompoc, California. Zhao's defense team at Latham & Watkins confirmed to CNBC that he is now in custody.
In April, Zhao received a four-month prison sentence after admitting to facilitating money laundering through his crypto exchange.
