According to Odaily, AI software development startup Poolside is in the midst of a new funding round that could value the company at $3 billion before its initial product launch. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Poolside aims to raise nearly $500 million in this round. Bain Capital Ventures, an existing investor in Poolside, is reportedly in talks to lead the investment. Both Poolside and Bain Capital Ventures have declined to comment on the matter.
Poolside was founded in early 2023 by former GitHub CTO Jason Warner and software entrepreneur Eiso Kant. After securing $126 million in seed funding, the startup relocated to France last year. The move aligns with a trend seen in other Paris-based startups like Mistral AI and H, which have also attracted significant investments to develop generative AI models.
