According to BlockBeats, a federal jury in the United States has found Remy St. Felix, a 24-year-old from West Palm Beach, Florida, guilty of leading several violent home invasions with the intent of stealing victims' cryptocurrencies.
St. Felix faced nine charges, including conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery under the Hobbs Act, telecommunications fraud, and brandishing firearms to facilitate crimes against cryptocurrencies.
Between December 2022 and July 2023, the criminal gang used violence, kidnapping, and threats to intimidate victims, forcing them to access and transfer their cryptocurrency assets to the criminals.
A notable incident occurred on April 12, 2023, when St. Felix and his accomplice Elmer Ruben Castro forcibly entered a house, tied up the victims with zip ties, and demanded to see their cryptocurrency accounts.
