According to PANews, Ilya Sutskever, co-founder of OpenAI, announced the establishment of a new artificial intelligence startup, Safe Superintelligence (SSI), on Wednesday. Sutskever stated that the new company will focus solely on the pursuit of safe superintelligence, with a single focus, goal, and product. The startup was co-founded by Sutskever, Daniel Gross, former head of Apple's AI business, and Daniel Levy, a former OpenAI employee. The company has offices in California and Tel Aviv.

Sutskever previously served as the Chief Scientist of OpenAI and co-led the company's super alignment team with Jan Leike. Leike left the company in May this year to join OpenAI's competitor, Anthropic, leading to the dissolution of OpenAI's super alignment team. The new startup, Safe Superintelligence, signifies a continued commitment to the development and advancement of artificial intelligence technology.
