PumpDump, a decentralized exchange (DEX) on the Solana network, handled over 70% of the blockchain's transactions during the weekend of December 16-17, 2022, according to data from Decrypt. This marks a significant increase in PumpDump's market share, as it typically handles around 50% of Solana's transactions. PumpDump's dominance peaked on December 17th, when it processed 75.5% of all Solana transactions. However, its share fell back to 53% the following day. As of December 21st, PumpDump's transaction share had rebounded to around 60%. The reasons for PumpDump's recent surge in popularity are unclear. However, it is worth noting that the Solana network has been experiencing a period of significant growth in recent months. The number of daily active users on Solana has more than doubled since the beginning of the year, and the total value locked (TVL) in Solana-based DeFi protocols has also increased significantly.
