As the crypto market prepares to welcome 2025, market analysts are advising XRP holders to reconsider their exposure to the asset as the year unfolds.
In a tweet, Edo Farina, founder of Alpha Lions Academy, issued a bold statement, warning that those not holding at least 10,000 XRP tokens could be making a lifetime mistake.
His message suggests that individuals who fall short of this threshold could miss out on the potential fortune that could accumulate from XRP in the coming years, especially considering that the asset is still seen as relatively inexpensive.
Farina believes holding at least 10,000 XRP is the minimum for anyone positioning themselves for the promising year ahead. Meanwhile, Farina is not the only one advocating for XRP enthusiasts to hold 10,000 tokens to secure their future.
Previously, well-known crypto influencer The Crypto Asset Guy also argued that holding 10,000 XRP could make investors millionaires. He based his bold projection on the case of XRP reaching $100 in the future.
Financial Cost of 10,000 XRP
At press time, XRP trades at $2.07, reflecting an 8% discount from its weekly high. At the current price, acquiring 10,000 XRP would require an initial investment of $20,700.
Supporters of this strategy argue that this sum is a bargain when considering the potential of the investment, which could be worth millions in a hypothetical future.
However, some market participants have faulted Farina’s call. They noted that acquiring 10,000 XRP is out of reach for many retail investors.
For instance, XRP holder TJ Glen expressed frustration, stating that she cannot afford 10,000 XRP at its current price. She mentioned that she had purchased XRP for as low as $0.27 years ago, later acquiring more at $0.52.
“I can only afford small amounts now, and soon I will be priced out, but I feel I have enough to be okay,” she commented.
How Many Wallets Hold 10,000 XRP?
Over the past seven years, XRP has mostly traded between $0.40 and $0.50. As of November 1, it was still available for $0.50, meaning 10,000 XRP could have been purchased for $5,000. However, even at this relatively lower price, it was still out of reach for many.
For context, of the 5.8 million wallets holding XRP, the overwhelming majority (around 5.37 million) hold fewer than 5,000 XRP. Only around 429,000 wallets hold at least 10,000 XRP.
Interestingly, these holders control only 1.42 billion XRP of the circulating supply, illustrating just how inaccessible 10,000 XRP is for many investors.
