Cointelegraph, citing data from Blockchain.com, reported that the daily number of Bitcoin payments fell to its lowest point of the year due to a year-end liquidity shortage. On December 26 (local time), the number of daily Bitcoin payments fell to 623,434, a 37% decrease from the 857,000 payments made on December 17 when BTC surpassed its all-time high. According to Ryan Lee, Senior Analyst at ByteTree Research, the recent decline in BTC payments is attributed to a lack of liquidity during the year-end holidays. He anticipates that market activity will generally recover once this period passes and that there will be a large influx of funds, particularly into sectors poised to benefit from President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.
