Kraken is set to launch Ink, a layer-2 blockchain aimed at boosting DeFi efficiency. Ink promises faster transactions, lower costs, and improved flexibility by integrating centralized and decentralized systems. Built on Ethereum's L2, it enhances scalability and security. The Ink Testnet will debut at DevCon in Bangkok in November 2024, with the mainnet following in early 2025.
Ink focuses on cross-chain interoperability, allowing seamless asset transfers across blockchains. It also offers a sequencer revenue model, similar to Coinbase's success. Users can engage with Ink by minting NFTs, attending DevJam, or joining community channels.
