**Ethereum Co-Creator Vitalik Buterin Tackles Staking Centralization Concerns**

Ethereum co-creator Vitalik Buterin has proposed solutions to address the growing centralization in Ethereum's block production and staking. In an October 20 post, Buterin highlighted that economies-of-scale are pushing small staking pools towards larger ones, with two entities producing 88% of Ethereum blocks in early October.

Buterin warned that staking centralization poses significant risks, including transaction censorship. He suggested capping the amount of Ether a user can stake and limiting staking penalties to 12.5% of staked Ether.

To decentralize block production, Buterin pitched a "fork-choice-enforced inclusion lists" proposal and an alternative "BRAID" model, aiming to distribute block production tasks among multiple actors. These measures aim to ensure Ethereum's security and reduce risks of market manipulation.
