**Taiwan Tightens Crypto Reins with New AML Rules 🕵️‍♂️**

- Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has rolled out fresh Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations for virtual asset service providers (VASPs), effective January 1, 2025.

- Crypto firms must register with the government by September 2025 or face penalties, including up to two years in prison or fines of NT$5 million ($155,900).

- Even if VASPs have previously complied with old AML measures, they must meet the new standards.

- The FSC is also opening the digital asset ETF market to local professional investors, aiming to boost financial market competitiveness.
