**Crypto Millionaire Faces $43M Loss Amid Ether's Struggles**
James Fickel, an early Ethereum investor, has seen his fortunes take a hit, losing over $43 million since January 10. His debt on the decentralized lending platform Aave has surged to $132 million. Fickel bet big on Ether (ETH) rising against Bitcoin (BTC), borrowing $172 million in Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) to buy 56,445 ETH. However, Ether has underperformed, dropping over 24% against Bitcoin year-to-date.
Adding to the woes, Ether ETFs have seen significant outflows, with Grayscale’s ETF alone witnessing over $2.7 billion in net outflows. This has further pressured Ether's price, disappointing investors who expected a boost from the ETF launches.
