Binance Charity has announced it will airdrop up to $1 million in BNB to registered Binance users in Vietnam affected by Typhoon Yagi. The initiative aims to provide relief to those living in the hardest-hit areas.

Users eligible for the airdrop will be identified based on their Proof-of-Address (POA) information. To qualify, users must reside in one of the 25 cities in Northern Vietnam impacted by the typhoon. According to Binance’s official statement, "Users who completed their POA before September 10, 2024, in these 25 cities will receive $50 worth of BNB directly to their Binance accounts."

Additionally, for users who did not complete their POA by the stated deadline but registered on Binance before September 10, 2024, Binance Charity will airdrop $20 worth of BNB. These users will need to complete their POA between September 10, 2024, and September 30, 2024, to qualify for the aid.

The first round of donations will begin crediting to eligible users' accounts starting September 15, 2024.

Binance CEO Richard Teng expressed his sympathies, stating, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to those affected by the devastating Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam. We hope our efforts can provide some relief to those impacted. We stand in solidarity with the community and wish for a speedy recovery from this disaster.”
