According to Odaily, EigenLayer developer Nader Dabit recently shared insights on zkTLS via X. zkTLS, or Zero-Knowledge Transport Layer Security, is a technology that allows users to prove website data without revealing sensitive information, bridging Web2 data with Web3 applications. Built on the TLS protocol, zkTLS enables users to create data proofs displayed in web browsers, such as verifying bank balances or purchase histories without exposing the actual data.

zkTLS operates using zero-knowledge proofs to validate data authenticity without disclosing the data itself. Key projects related to zkTLS include TLSNotary, DECO (Chainlink), PADO Labs, zkPass, and Reclaim Protocol, each with its unique approach and focus. Potential use cases for zkTLS span identity verification, social networks, crypto asset proof, DeFi lending, and medical data sharing. However, scalability remains a challenge, as each website requires a well-defined provider (URL and data location), which can be time-consuming.
