Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy and announced the new candidate

US President Joe Biden will not be a candidate in the presidential elections to be held on November 5. Biden announced on his social media account that he withdrew his candidacy. After withdrawing from the election race, Biden announced that he approved and supported Vice President Kamala Harris as a candidate.

Biden made the announcement in a letter shared on his social media account.

Stating that great progress has been made in America in the last 3.5 years when he served as president, Biden said, "We preserved and protected our democracy."  he said.

Noting that serving as the President of the United States is his greatest pride, Biden said, "I intended to run for re-election, but I decided that it would be best to withdraw on behalf of my party and my country. For the rest of the time, I will focus only on my presidential duties."  he stated.

Stating that he will address the public about his decision in the coming days, Biden also thanked Vice President Kamala Harris for her "extraordinary partnership."

Biden also thanked the American people for their trust and faith, saying, "As long as America is united, there is nothing it cannot achieve."  he said.
