BNB Chain: $1.64 billion lost to hacking and theft since inception
Since its inception in 2017, BNB Chain has lost as much as $1.64 billion due to hacking and theft. Of this, about $368 million was attributed to rug pulls, making BNB Chain a prime target for the launch of malicious tokens.
In response to these issues, BNB Chain has undergone multiple hard forks to address network vulnerabilities. As a result of these efforts, losses in 2023 and 2024 have been significantly reduced.
