According to Odaily, a user known as @Sizeab1e has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Normie cryptocurrency, and has expressed a willingness to return the over $494,000 in funds lost as a result of the attack. Previously, the Base ecosystem Meme coin Normie had announced in response to the flash loan attack that the deployer's wallet still had a balance of over 500 ETH. These funds were to be used entirely for compensation and repair in relation to the incident.

Normie apologized for the delay in response, stating that they are actively working on resolving the issue and maintaining communication with key partners in order to find a solution as quickly as possible. However, Normie is still uncertain whether it will need to redeploy or fork the project. Normie has also issued a warning, advising against purchasing related tokens until further confirmation is received, as the attacker is still continuously minting or acquiring tokens.
