🚨#CryptoNews: The mastermind behind the recent $71M #WBTC phishing attack has started moving the stolen loot! 😱 After 6 days of inactivity, the funds (now ~23K $ETH) are being spread across multiple wallets. 🕵️‍♂️ #PeckShieldAlert spotted the action.

🔍 What happened?

- The scammer used an "address poisoning" trick, creating a wallet address that looked almost identical to the victim's.

- The victim, like many, validated the wallet by checking the first and last characters, missing the discrepancy in the middle.

🔀 What's next?

- The scammer is breaking down the stolen assets, distributing them across 400+ wallets to dilute and obscure traceability.

- Despite this, PeckShield confirms all assets can still be traced back to the scammer.

In other news, April saw a significant drop in crypto losses from scams and hacks, hitting a record low of $25.7M, the lowest since 2021. 📉🎉
