This expansion of its existing digital retail destination, Black Station, sees a new metaverse-based platform that aims to reinvent the omnichannel shopping experience by merging the digital and physical worlds, allowing users to purchase exciting phygital footwear.
Inside Black Station 2, users will find immersive shopping experiences, that at the time of writing feature two distinct "worlds," each created to highlight various aspects of PUMA's footwear designs.
The first world, named Unkai, draws inspiration from the vibrant city of Shibuya in Japan, incorporating its lively colors and energetic elements into the footwear. The second world, Unter, takes inspiration from Berlin's underground club scene, with design elements reflecting the city's renowned club culture.
To kick things off, the inaugural release will feature the highly anticipated Fast-RB. The footwear combines PUMA's pinnacle running technologies, featuring four strategically placed NITRO pods and three PWRPLATES -- delivering a bouncy running sensation that PUMA says is "unlike anything else on the market."
Notable features of the Fast-RB include INITRO, an innovative Nitrogen-infused foam technology that offers exceptional responsiveness in an incredibly lightweight package, and PWRPLATE, designed to stabilize NITRO midsoles while maximizing energy transfer for powerful propulsion.
To encourage wider adoption of PUMA's Web3 spaces, the company is now accepting credit card payments in addition to cryptocurrency for purchases within Black Station 2 -- provided by payment solutions provider MoonPay.
"We're thrilled to invite our community into these new worlds that provide an unparalleled shopping experience," stated Ivan Dashkov, Head of Web3 at PUMA, adding that "PUMA aims to meet our community where it shops while also exploring new and exciting opportunities within cryptocurrency and the metaverse."
Black Station 2 is live now for visitors to explore and for those looking to purchase the Fast-RB, access passes can be found on secondary markets.
