According to Odaily, US Senator Roger Marshall has addressed the power struggle between the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) over determining which digital assets are securities and which are commodities. Marshall posed a question to CFTC Chairman Rostin Behnam, asking if it would be simpler to place the entire matter under the jurisdiction of the CFTC.

Behnam responded affirmatively, stating that he was speaking on his own behalf, but he would be happy to do so. He believes that the CFTC possesses the necessary expertise and capabilities. However, he noted that under such a system, some changes would need to be made to the definitions of securities and commodities.
