According to Odaily, IOTA has announced the launch of its Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) mainnet, a second-layer solution fully compatible with the IOTA network. Since the initial release of EVM on Shimmer in September 2023, this version has undergone extensive improvements, testing, and auditing.
The IOTA EVM introduces features such as smart contracts, cross-chain functionality, parallel processing, and enhanced security for miner extractable value (MEV). This release marks a significant step towards integrating decentralized finance (DeFi) with real-world assets.
